NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York Democrats have filed a complaint saying President Donald Trump’s visit to Long Island was a misuse of taxpayer dollars. They’re asking the Board of Elections to bar Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman from receiving public matching funds during his campaign for governor.

“People have every right to peacefully protest President Trump’s visit. We expect there will be significant protests," an Irish Senator tells TIME.

President Donald Trump is expected to make a stop in South Carolina later this week.

President Trump plans to head to Ireland next month to attend the Irish Open at his golf course in Doonbeg. Trump will be in Ireland on Sept. 12 and 13, the final two days of the tournament, a White House official told The Hill.

"I've had good talks with him. He's not going to be attacking a NATO territory," Trump said of Putin.
