Brevard County Sheriff's Office units were conducting a large dig behind The Avenue Viera shopping center on Wednesday.

Brevard Zoo will break ground on its $140 million Bowen Aquarium in December, with over half the funding secured.

The stormwater at the new site will be collected in rain gardens or “bio-retention areas” that hold water during rain events.
