Today we tested two of the smallest outboard jets available. We used a Solar 420 and Projet 430. Both boats were similar speed and could get about 26-27 km/hr on the river without current. The motors weigh about 100 lbs. The biggest difference we noticed with these jets is the time to get on step which does take a bit longer. You cannot do a 180 degree turn and stay on step unless it is very wide. Once on step they run pretty good and can handle skinny water, faster chutes, and maneuver nicely.
